Addiction is ultimately used to deny our purpose, because the feelings of not accomplishing something are so big. Addiction, reflects an unresolved heartbreak, shattered dreams . The common underlying dynamics for addictions, in general, a great need, and a belief that something outside of us can save us. The condition of anemia stems from feelings of weakness and inadequacy, the loss of our sense of self and the failure of our ability to receive. We have lost our centre and have hidden, or not so hidden, feelings of overwhelm, valuelessness, unworthiness and failure, all of which can lead to depression. The energy loss is immense. We feel as if we are not enough to do what we need to do, or for what we are called for in life. As we look for the strength to get through the day, we feel that we don’t have enough energy to fulfill our purpose.

Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most common forms of arthritis; it is the inflammation of the lining of the joints. The cause of Rheumatoid Arthritis is unknown but it is believed to be an autoimmune disease. If we have this condition, it means that we are caught in roles and are emotionally and psychologically fused with others, which makes us unable to move. We have been immobilized by a fear of change. You can be very self critical, and can allow resentment to build while you wait for others to figure out telephathically what you need. Just as this disease is paralyzing physically, it also indicates emotional paralysis. You are stuck, ridged, inflexible, and maybe just a little stubborn.

Asthma
Comes about as a result of sadness. May occur from a state of fusion with a parental figure - usually, but not always, our mother. We feel we are not able to have a life of our own, because we are living for our mother. In this fusion we feel our mothers feelings and are trying to carry her emotionally. We don't feel able to pursue our goals and there are areas of sacrifice in our life. Because of a perceived greater need to help or save others, there is a certain giving up on our own lives. This giving up may be covered over by dis-association and independence. Feeling smothered. The lungs are the core of the respiratory system, and metaphorically they represent our ability to receive, experience and enjoy life. Breathing reflects our life and the extent to which we let ourselves live. Problems with our lungs imply that we are experiencing feelings of unworthiness and self- attack; we may have unresolved issues of sacrifice and fusion. Major lung problems show us that we are not including ourselves and that we don’t feel that we have the right to live. The lungs are easily affected if we suffer a loss or sadness. We are not taking our place in life so we don’t get over the sadness or resolve our fear.

Back problems also mean that we are ‘backed up’ with anger, ‘getting back at’ someone with revenge or feeling as if we are ‘carrying it all on our back’ through overwhelming sacrifice.Serious back problems usually reflect unconscious level issues. We are holding back out of fear or unworthiness

Bells Palsy
The physical cause of Bells palsy is unknown. It is a condition that results in sudden onset of unilateral facial paralysis. Having this condition means that there is something that we are ‘paralyzed with fear’ to face. If the right side of our face is affected, it means that the issue involves our purpose: what our soul came to do in our life and what we want to do in our career. If the condition has affected the left side, it means that we are paralyzed with fear by an issue connected with relationship or intimacy. If we are suffering from Bells Palsy then there is something that we are ‘shame faced’ about. This shame is keeping us self-conscious and stuck. Paralysis is a construct of fear and it represents where we have become literally immobilized or frozen. Our fear of change is holding us back from a birth to a whole new level.

high / low Blood pressure is the pressure that the blood exerts on the wall of a blood vessel. When our blood pressure is high, we are caught in expectations and roles. We have an exaggerated sense of self-importance, which leads us to believe that we have to do everything on our own. We are pushing ourselves from a position of fear, without trusting in the universe to support us. We have set too many goals in an attempt to make up for feelings of valuelessness, and this leads to frustration and aggravation. Low blood pressure is a result of feeling ineffectual or trapped. We feel weak in certain life situations and unable to change our situation.

Coughing is an attempt to clear the way. Are you being asked to accept something you don't want? Coughing is linked to an internal irritation, sneezing is connected to an external irritation. A cough is a forceful expiratory effort, which indicates that we are trying to move forward while still holding on. The cough represents new energy that wants to be expressed, yet we are still feeling loss about the past. We don’t want to say good-bye to, or let go of, something, but we are pushing ourselves to go forward. We feel a need for nurturing and we are caught in an emotional conflict. Our coughing (‘coffin’) represents a place of being emotionally stuck.

Digestion The digestive system is the nourishment processing mechanism for the body. This intricate system processes and directs nourishment to every cell in the body, providing the energy necessary to sustain us. Excess nutrients are stored in the body or excreted by this system. Problems with the digestive system relate directly to problems processing something going on in our life, such as something that we can’t ‘stomach’. Problems are a sign of resistance to process and are commonly due to fear of the next step in our life or fear of feeling a painful emotion. There are some feelings that we are having difficulty understanding and accepting, and we don’t want to feel them because they seem too painful. A well functioning digestive system is a sign that we are nurturing ourselves and handling issues as they surface for healing.

Nearsightedness
People who are nearsighted see what is close to them easier than they
see what is far away. They are more focused on what is inside their bubble,
and less on what is outside. Energy - the direction attention - is toward the
inside and away from the outside, moving inward and contracting, and things must be close in order to seen clearly and comfortably. Nearsighted people often have an exceptional need for privacy and can be withdrawn from the world around them. They may feel intimidated by their environment, and have a sense of hiding inside. From near to clear. Nearsighted people can direct the energy outward by being more and more willing to be visible and trust they will be safe doing so, letting people see who they really are. Nearsighted people also benefit from working on their self confidence, and choosing to no longer make decisions based of fear. The idea is not to feel threaten or intimidated by the environmemt, but rather to focus more on letting themselves be themselves letting themselves be real. Its about trusting that when they do what they really want to do, then something wonderful always happens. And since this process is so important for our-selves, nearsighted people must also learn to recognize how the same process is important for other people, too, and that everyone is just getting better and better at being themselves.
Farsightedness
People who are farsighted see what is further away more easily than
what is close to them.Farsighted people are more focused on what is outside
their bubble and less on what is inside.Energy - the direction of attention
- is expanding and moving outward. Things must be held at a distance to be seen clearly and comfortably. While nearsighted person retreats within readily and easily, a farsighted person has difficulty doing this, since their attention continues to be directed outward. A farsighted person is interested in other people's lives and avoids looking at their own. From far to clear. Farsighted people can redirect the energy inward by giving themselves the same consideration they give others, but to also consider their own self in the same way .It is also important for them to express wants and feelings.

Ear Infection
An infection anywhere in the body is a war zone. It is a place where we are resisting a call for change, getting into a fight instead. The metaphor is the battleground where the body's defences meet the invading microbes. The area of the body being infected is very significant. Physical symptoms with an infection in the ear are the pain from inflammation and often some hearing loss. Inflammation speaks of something we are angry and inflamed about, indicating something that we don't want to hear. Something we are fighting against hearing. Another significance with an ear infection is which ear is infected. If our right ear is infected then there is something we are fighting against hearing in business, career or about our fathers, husband or partner. If the problem is in our left ear then there is something we are fighting against hearing in relationships, or about mother, wife or partner.
Eczema
We are trying to change, as if we are moulting to a new level, but we haven't got over that which would allow us to begin again. Something in life and/or about ourselves is irritating us. Life, situations or relationships have gotten under our skin. It's time to shift. We may be using this situation to hide our own misperception of ourselves.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition that affects the endometrium, the mucous membrane lining of the inner surface of the uterus. If a fertilized egg is implanted, this membrane serves as a nurturing place for the developing embryo. If a fertilized egg is not implanted, then the lining is ‘sloughed’ as a menstrual period. Endometriosis occurs when endometrium tissue has grown unnaturally, somewhere other than the inner lining of the uterus. We have compensated for this by false nurturing, which has added roles onto the ones already there. We have a judgment about our femininity, and therefore we are attacking men, our father in particular. A conflict has arisen because we’re trying to get love while simultaneously judging our feminine side. We feel stuck being a woman. As a result we have developed a super-sensitivity that controls the people around us by making them treat us in a special way. We don’t feel valued by the masculine, and the more we have devalued the feminine, the bigger our compulsion to hide it, usually through projection.

Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a cerebral disorder that involves a recurrent pattern of seizures. It is characterized by sudden brief attacks of altered consciousness, motor activity or sensory phenomena. Attacks commonly take the form of convulsive seizures, but sometimes the symptoms can be a very mild stomachache or headache. Epilepsy is caused by a brain lesion or by metabolic disturbances. Having epilepsy means that we are being ‘seized’ with terror, which is stopping us in our tracks. This can be the result of a shocking up- welling from the unconscious. We feel overwhelmed emotionally and cannot deal with any more. We are trying to ‘think’ our way out of a call to heal without actually dealing with the feelings.
Fatigue
Chronic Fatigue- flu that will not go away, feelings of being overwhelmed, high levels of emotional sacrifice.Too much to deal with, disheartened, not enough inspiration and reason to our life. Too much thinking.
Fibroids
Fibroids demonstrate that we are rooted in the past with some grievance under a buried level of guilt. We have a desire for birth, but are afraid to let go of the past and to give what it takes for a leap forward in our life. Fibroids depict the unwillingness and the block to nurture and give birth to ourselves. This block stems from a place where we are giving and not receiving. We may be caught in the mothering role of taking care of the whole family. We are using the role and our family as an excuse not to move forward, and live our lives in such a way that would encourage and support them and us.

Fracture
A fracture means that the surface of a bone has been broken or cracked. This shows an area where we are caught in self-attack and judgment of another. Something that was buried at an unconscious level has now come up for healing. As a result, we have lost a level of confidence or strength; we have experienced a fracture of self, which points to some deeper emotional conflict. At some level, we have suffered a kind of emotional fracture or heartbreak as a result of this conflict. The area of our body that has suffered the fracture will give us a significant clue as to our underlying psychological process.
Gout
Gout is a reflection of being stuck. Full of hot emotions. Clinging to the past, unable to move on. Not releasing past emotions. Inflamed thoughts or feelings. A repressed desire to dominate. Also indicates a lack of flexibility, even stubbornness.
Headaches
Unexpressed feelings. Taking on more than you can cope with. Feeling out of control. Thinking too much. Tension and stiffness in the neck and shoulders, creating a split between mind and body. Overwork, stress and tension between thought and action. Control, trying to hold everything together. Feeling your head is about to burst. The message is to stop accumulating so much within yourself through fear of other people's judgment of what you are or are not. Thinking and analysing too much!
Hayfever
Hay Fever is characterized by sneezing, runny nose and itchy, watery eyes. It usually affects us in the spring when pollen is in the air. In springtime, at this time of new birth, there is residual melancholy or sadness stemming from old losses. This is typically covered over by compensating selves or personalities, all of which were created at a time of lost bonding. Often this is an ancestral issue, passed down to us through the family. We have a feeling of melancholy and sadness. We have something suppressed or repressed. Our body is overflowing with toxic emotion that we don't know how to deal with.
Herpes (genital)
Herpes (genital) is a herpes simplex infection of the genitals. Herpes shows that we have a desire to escape from an emotionally cold past with feelings that we have had an empty or missing childhood. We have tried to use sex to compensate for our loneliness. Our actions led to self-attack, guilt and shame. This infection is the result of a major conflict and is tricky in that it aims at two opposite goals. On one hand we have a need for love, warmth and approval through sex, yet on the other we have self-attack and self-judgment about it. Herpes blocks and confuses intimacy and sexuality. We often experience weariness, sacrifice and feelings of being caught in a rut, partly from our conflicting feelings and partly from our failure to give ourselves fully. However, in the final essay, these roles stem from a fear of intimacy and they are a defense against it. Underneath all this is a self-rejection and judgment of sexuality. These judgments set up blocks to harmony, sharing and sex as a way of communicating love. By embracing these gifts we would bring about refreshment and transformation.
Hip problems
The hips form the joint between our trunk and our lower extremities. Problems with our hips signify fear of change. There may be deep feelings about the need for change, but we are still experiencing a fear of it. This can lead to an over-stimulation and hipbone growth, as found in some teenagers. More often it shows itself as a fear of change, as when an elderly person breaks a hip. There is something that we are not being ‘hip’ about. If we are experiencing difficulty with our right hip, then the change we are called to make is in our career. If we are experiencing difficulty in our left hip, then the change we are called to make is in relationship.
Impotence
Impotence is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection, signifying our feelings of powerlessness, neediness and valuelessness. We are involved in a power struggle about sex. We are caught in an internal conflict, wanting to possess another while denying our desire. Our failure can contain elements of attack, self-attack and revenge. This is also a big side effect of anti depressants.
Indigestion
Are you finding difficulty in assimilating ideas into your life?. Is something or someone hard to digest at present, something you can't stomach at the moment? Is there someone/something you feel bitter and twisted about? You are swallowing feelings of frustration, anger, irritation.

Insomnia
We are trying to do it ourselves, rather than allow for grace. We have difficulty screening information, prioritizing, focusing and letting go. We have an obsession or fixation over an issue or possibly a fear of our dreams. There can be spiritual, emotional and intellectual restlessness or impatience. We may be pushing ourselves to try and help in an area where we are not called to help. There may also be resistance to inner guidance. Perhaps we are pushing for an outcome rather than accepting an outcome.
Itching
It is a distraction and represents an unsatisfied desire or something disturbing us. Something or someone is irritating. It signifies our ambition to move forward.
Jaw Problems
Reflecting feelings of having to carry it all and living as if we have to do everything ourselves. We are feeling negative, angry and holding ourselves back from attacking verbally. We have at least one negative story or script within us. We are waiting with clenched teeth for something negative to happen again. Unaware that we are the ones writing the story. TMJ. is a sign of the pressure and stress that we are stuck in. We are working hard to be careful, to prevent something tragic occurring. Feeling like there is no way out. In a state of apprehension and suppressed anger. Feeling inadequate and 'unhinged'. Threatened by something real or imagined. Our fear can make us vicious outwardly or inwardly. Clenching your jaw to keep the lid on your anger, stopping you expressing yourself.
Joints
Inflexible. Rigid.Unbending. Stubborn, not flowing with life. A loss of freedom of movement, and disjointed relationship between thought and emotions. A build up of angry irritable emotions also indicates difficulty in expressing your opinion or making decisions. Leading to inactivity which in turn leads to a sense of being stuck or going in ever-decreasing circles.
Knee
Fluid build up around the knee joint results from an emotional build up around an unresolved issue. It can reflect a fear of moving forward, or a fear of not getting certain needs met if we make a decision that we have been putting off. The right knee indicates that the issue is with the masculine, our career or with our father. The left knee indicates that the issue is with the feminine, our relationships or our mother.
Leg problems
Our legs move our body forward and backwards. Our legs symbolize foundation and moving forward in our life. Problems with our legs signify feelings of not ‘having a leg to stand on,’ with no support, strength or foundation, and having nothing to build on or to go forward toward. Problems with our right leg refer to our masculine side or to progressing forward with our career. Problems with our left leg refer to our feminine side or to moving ahead in relationships.
Lung problems

Problems with the lungs that are mucous or liquid-related show deep feelings of sadness.

Menopause
May also be time to give men a pause, and put your focus on finding out who you are. Problems can shine a spotlight on your relationship issues, your identity as a woman, or fear of ageing. They could also indicate difficulty accepting change eg coming into your full power. A time when your creative energy can go within, to create the new you. New beginnings to a new identity. Hot Flush Burning off the old to make way for the new. Power surges. May also indicate burning off old anger. What were you thinking or doing when you had a hot flush?
Neuralgia
Neuralgia is severe and sharp nerve pain as a result of pressure, faulty nerve nutrition, inflammation and/or toxins in the body. If we have Neuralgia, it means that we are being given a serious wake up call. It’s time for us to let go of our fear and resistance to the next step. If we don’t, we could be faced with deterioration in our life and health. The area of the body affected is a further clue to the metaphor of this problem.
Periods
Painful periods can be an inability to surrender to the flow of life. Stress, tension. A victim of your feminity. Periods can also be one of your bodies way of clearing out old rubbish. Premenstrual Tension or Syndrome (PMS) PMS occurs several days prior to the onset of menstruation. Its symptoms include irritability, emotional tension, anxiety and various mood changes. It reflects a major internal conflict between independence and dependence. We have need for help and nurturing that is in conflict with the defense of dissociation and the need to break away and maintain dominance. We feel tender and vulnerable and are afraid of being hurt again. There is a fear of intimacy and sexuality, coupled with anger about our needs and, possibly, about our life situation as well. We are attempting to control others because of a lack of trust and communication that stems from our feelings of confusion and ambivalence. As a result of old heartbreaks, we are unwilling to communicate and join with others, and we lack the confidence to take the next step. We have resorted to emotional bullying and blackmail because we feel misunderstood, impatient and intolerant. It can lead to feelings that life, men or others owe us something. As a result, we have little patience for ourselves.
Phlebitis
Phlebitis is the inflammation of a vein as a result of acute or chronic infection, post- operation complications or childbirth. Phlebitis indicates a problem with the amount of time we give to ourselves. We feel overloaded and stressed, overwhelmed by pressure and demands. We are suppressing the anger that we feel about all the work we have to do, such as the huge commitment needed after childbirth. We feel like we have lost ourselves and our life because of the demands of the situation. Yet while we seem to have lost the vein of our life, we are being presented with an opportunity for maturity. This is a chance to give up being vain by bringing balance to our life. If we can get through this then we can make a new beginning, in a different vein, and reach a new level of partnership in our life.
Prostate Disease
The prostate gland surrounds the neck of the bladder and urethra in males. The prostate’s function is to secrete fluid that becomes part of semen. There are a variety of different causes of prostate disease, but most of them involve inflammation of the prostate. This disease typically means that we have used sex as an idol, and that we have old fear, guilt and shame around sex or our fantasies about it. We may have a subconscious judgment on ourselves about being promiscuous, and we may be in a conflict about expressing our sexuality. We have blocked our creative, emotional and sexual flow and, thus, feel blocked spiritually.
Psorisis
Means that we have suppressed irritation; aggravation about someone or a number of people. Can lead to hyper-sensitivity. This stems from our misperception that causes us to react rather than respond . We have a desire for peace, but we have been suppressing rather than dealing with our emotions. A feeling of sacrificing ourselves to make things better. This can stem from an overload of old, but present, negative emotions and conflicts. We are swallowing past or present disharmony . Trying to make things better at personal cost to ourselves.
Rectum
The rectum is a five-inch sphincter muscle at the end of the large intestine; it controls the passage of bowel movements. The metaphor for the rectum is about the balance of letting go of the past in order to make room for the new. Problems with our rectum relate to the shadow figure of the Destroyer and the Undoer conspiracy. This conspiracy and shadow wreck a project or new level in our life, just as it is reaching fruition, by undoing all the work that we have put in. This can lead us to destroy what we have accomplished in our life.
Sciatica
Sciatica is severe pain running the course of the sciatic nerve. It runs from the top of the thigh all the way down the leg. Sciatica is caused by compression of, or trauma to, the sciatic nerve or its root. There is some issue that is making us feel sad. We are scared of change because we feel unsupported, weak and without foundation in our life; we therefore feel that we have nothing to build on. We have an unwillingness to fully engage with life that has been built on a general feeling of inadequacy.
Seizures
Seizures result from a disorder in our brain. Attacks take the form of a change in our level of consciousness, a change in our ability to control our muscles and motor co-ordination, or a change in our ability to interpret sensory phenomena. Seizures or convulsions mean that we are in a state of siege. We are in conflict, paralyzed by the fear of moving forward and birthing ourselves to a whole new level. We are afraid of the unconscious and are scared of receiving information that is important to our purpose. Seizures are a way of stopping our whole process dead in its tracks. We have been seized upon by some emotion and shaken up. We are caught up in a labour without birth and feel that we have been taken against our will. We are in fear of our own mind. There is also a hidden attempt to get something, because we feel that something vital has been taken from us and we need to replace it.
